Frequently Asked Questions
We provide answers to frequently asked questions for you to view
1. What is the difference between silicone gasket and rubber gasket?
-
The difference between silicone gaskets and rubber gaskets lies in their different properties, components, characteristics, and application ranges.
Silicone is a type of silicone rubber, which belongs to single component room temperature vulcanized liquid rubber. It is a granular porous silica hydrate. Rubber is a highly elastic polymer compound with a structure that is a high polymer of isoprene.
2. What problems do you need to pay attention to when purchasing seals?
+

The selection of sealing components hinges on considering multiple factors that influence the friction between the seal and its contact surface, encompassing surface roughness, characteristics, pressure resistance, working medium, ambient temperature, material quality, structural design, and movement speed.

Pressure Factor: The intensity of pressure and the duration of its cyclic changes directly affect the degree of seal wear, such as extrusion. In high-pressure environments, other factors like temperature, velocity, seal material, gaps between the piston and cylinder, and those between the piston and cylinder head have a pronounced impact on sealing performance.

Temperature Considerations: Evaluating the effect of temperature on sealing materials singularly is intricate and necessitates a holistic analysis of various factors. The differing operational temperatures of pistons and piston rods require distinct considerations during selection.

Friction Analysis: The friction between the seal and the contacting surface is determined by a multitude of variables, including surface roughness, characteristics, operating conditions, pressure of the medium, working temperature, and material type.Importance of Surface Treatment: Experience has shown that the quality of surface treatment on hydraulic cylinder pistons and piston rods significantly determines the lifespan of seals. Although the commonly used surface roughness parameter RA (the arithmetic average deviation of surface profile from the center line) offers some guidance, identical roughness values do not fully represent the varied effects of different surface morphologies on seal wear.

Hence, a deep understanding of these points empowers you to choose sealing products that confidently meet your requirements and exhibit reliable performance.

3. Comparison of high temperature resistance of PTFE gasket with silicone rubber
+
In the use of silicone gasket, our application environment is different, so for some occasions, our silicone and rubber applications are also different, and the use effect and characteristics are also different.
4. What are the differences between FKM and FFKM?
+
FKM is fluororubber, a synthetic polymer elastomer that contains fluorine atoms on the carbon atoms of the main or side chains. The introduction of fluorine atoms endows rubber with excellent heat resistance, oxidation resistance, oil resistance, corrosion resistance, and atmospheric aging resistance.
FFKM is perfluoroether rubber, which refers to a ternary copolymer of perfluoro (methyl vinyl) ether, tetrafluoroethylene, and perfluoroethylene ether. Also known as perfluorinated rubber. The long-term effectiveness of perfluoroether rubber sealing components can improve production efficiency and reduce maintenance costs.
5. How many customized schemes are available for buyers?
+
In the use of silicone gasket, our application environment is different, so for some occasions, our silicone and rubber applications are also different, and the use effect and characteristics are also different.
6. How many colors are available for Novfeel buyers?
+
In the use of silicone gasket, our application environment is different, so for some occasions, our silicone and rubber applications are also different, and the use effect and characteristics are also different.
7. Can we provide the third-party test report if the purchaser needs it?
+
Yes, of course.
